RAPOFLEX® cut-off wheels, specifically designed for use in the steel making and working industries, deliver excellent results in the cutting of unalloyed, high-alloy, special-alloy and hardened steels.
A state-of-the-art manufacturing technique is employed to produce the cut-off wheels with a multi-ply system. It involves the layering of the individual materials of fibreglass mesh or sheet steel and wet grinding grit in sequence as well as finishing to achieve optimum smoothness and homogeneity. The composite is then rough-pressed in the biggest grinding wheel press in Europe before it is tempered and allowed to cure at an average temperature of 180°C while being held in a special holding device.
RAPOFLEX® cut-off wheels are manufactured with a conical form, i.e. tapered to the spindle opening. If required, RAPPOLD will provide the RAPOFLEX® cut-off wheels with reinforced centres, offering greater strength, resistance to breakage and distinct advantages for the environment.
