A conventional solution with unconventional performance

Being the interface for specific grinding problems, the interaction between the abrasive and the bond are constantly in the limelight. Empirical tests have shown that the bond does not have a direct influence on the removal of material. Alongside its positive features such as grain bonding and wheel damping, it bears a great deal of the responsibility, due to friction, for negative influences, including the brunt of dressing tool wear. If, like in the case of uWin, it is possible to reduce the bond ratio to only 7%, one can double the benefits with minimised risk of grinding burn and lower overall process costs since expensive dressing tools can be spared.

In principle, this also works with other grinding wheels, such as NanoWin or special sintered-corundum grinding wheels. But these variants are only of interest to customers whose high-volume production justifies the higher performance potential. uWin is the ideal choice for all others, as the combination of this bond with less expensive abrasives, such as red and white aluminium oxides offer new, feasible perspectives for lower production volumes.

Concisely put: the uWin bond system is a conventional grinding wheel with absolutely unconventional performance.
